awakening

How can we hold to our ideals
While swinging from the trees
I’m placing a call out to you
Walking streets, kicking leaves

We are surprised by the compromise
Far from uninformed, and unknown
We arrive on the wings in power
Frightened to find ourselves alone

Opening the door to impossibility
Peering through to opportunity
Walking through to only become
Realized potential, dream-like reality

  1. Great juxtapositions:
“How can we hold our ideals
While swinging from the trees,” and
“We arrive on the wings in power
    Frightened to find ourselves alone”
    Yep, that’s a human!
It reminds me of one of my favorite Talmud sayings. I can’t quote it, but it goes something like this:
Every day, on one hand realize that you are human and must suffer the same trials as everyone else, but on the other hand, also think and act as if the whole world were the garden of Eden, created just for you.
